Choosing the right handbag to coordinate with your outfit is very difficult for some ladies. Almost everyone needs to carry along a variety of personal items, but no one likes the bulky look of everything stuffed in their pockets. Here are some tips for choosing a bag you will not only love, but will want to carry everywhere you go.
Don’t feel like you need a whole wardrobe of bags. Just like there are shoe enthusiasts and there are ladies who own the maximum of three or four pairs, there are handbag fanatics and there are those who have one bag that supplies all their needs. If you are a bag minimalist, try to buy a high quality bag in a neutral color such as brown, black, or red that will look good in every season. There are many bag options that match casual or corporate lifestyles, so it shouldn’t be hard to find a bag you fall in love with. For me, my favorite, all-purpose bag is a brown canvas bag with a gazillion pockets and bronzed buckles
Color can be your friend. For a special occasion bag, consider buying an outrageous color that you would never ordinarily consider. Whether an eye catching sunny yellow or stunning purple bag, a bright colored paired with a contrasting outfit can be an amazing fashion statement. Because the bag is only for special occasions, you don’t have to feel like you need to match your every outfit. Consider stepping out of your comfort zone a little and be daring. Who knows, it might become your favorite bag.
Just like you try on a pair of jeans before leaving the store with them, try on a bag before buying it. Different heights and weights look better with specific bags, so make sure yours makes you look good. Small bags can sometimes make you look large, even if you aren’t, while large bags can overwhelm and look like you’re carrying a suitcase instead of a purse. Where you carry the bag in relation to your body is also important. A handbag is like a spotlight: people will look where ever you carry it. So if you feel your hips are too large, don’t choose a bag that hangs hip-length. Under-the-arm bags, which highlight your breast area, are a better choice for large hipped women like me. These bags balance out my heavier bottom half.
Do you agree or disagree? Perhaps, I missed something? Either way, I would just love to hear what your thoughts are on this topic… just let me know your alive!
